About the publication
A weekly experiment in getting brands cited by AI.
Proof, not hype. Answer Engine Weekly teaches marketing agencies how to make their clients show up inside AI answers — and how to resell GEO/AEO as a service.
Why this exists
Answer engines — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Claude — are becoming where people get answers. For a brand, the new question is not “do we rank” but “are we cited”. That is a real, learnable discipline. It is also a space already crowded with guru content selling secrets and certifications.
Answer Engine Weekly takes the opposite posture. Every issue is a documented experiment: a fixed set of prompts, a baseline, one change, a re-measurement, and before/after screenshots. If we cannot show an AI answer actually changing, we do not publish the claim. Proof, not hype.
Who it is for
The reader is a marketing agencies or a freelance marketers and consultants. The job to be done is concrete: Make client brands show up inside AI answers, and package GEO/AEO into a sellable service line. The publication is written so an agency can take an issue, apply it to a client on Monday, and report a result by the end of the month.
What we cover
Signal vs. Noise
The GEO space is drowning in recycled advice. We separate the tactics that actually change AI answers from the ones that just sound good in a thread.
Entity Authority
AI answer engines reason about entities, not keywords. We show how to build a recognizable, consistently-named entity for your clients.
The Off-Page Authority Triangle
Reviews, PR, and third-party mentions form the triangle that LLMs trust. We measure how each side moves citation frequency.
Proof, Not Hype
Every claim ships with a before/after prompt test and a screenshot. If we cannot show the answer changing, we do not publish it.

The Editor
Clark Tota
Editor & Founder, Answer Engine Weekly
Clark Tota runs Answer Engine Weekly and a GEO/AEO consulting practice. He spends his weeks running prompt experiments against ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Claude — measuring which sources get cited and why — then writing up what actually moved the needle.
Answer Engine Weekly is the public-facing side of that consulting practice. The publication shows the method; the practice applies it to clients. If your agency wants help building GEO into a service line, that conversation starts on the contact page.
Our editorial method, briefly
- Fix a prompt set — the questions a real customer would ask an AI engine.
- Capture a baseline across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Claude, with screenshots.
- Change exactly one variable.
- Wait for re-crawl, then re-measure with the same prompts.
- Report honestly — including the experiments that did not work.
The full method is written up in Before/After Prompt Experiments.
